Assam: 5 youths returning from a wedding killed in a tragic road accident

At least 5 youths died on the spot when their car fell into a pit in Assam’s Sonitpur district this morning.

As per sources, all the deceased youths were residents of Tezpur.

The accident occurred in the Balipara area of Sonitpur at around 2 am today when the group of five youths who had gone to attend a wedding ceremony was returning to Tezpur, said sources.

However, the exact location where they went to attend the wedding function is still not known.

As per inputs, the accident happened after the driver of the speeding vehicle lost control, and it toppled into a pit killing five passengers on the spot.

While two of the passengers have been identified as Dwipen Bora and Bidyut Nath, the identity of the three others is yet to be ascertained.
