Assam: 3.5 kg Heroin seized in Karbi Anglong, 2 held

In a big breakthrough, Karbi Anglong police busted a drug smuggling racket today and recovered 286 soap cases containing 3.5 kg of heroin at Dilai Tiniali, Karbi Anglong.

The consignment was seized when Karbi Anglong police intercepted a four-wheeler at Dilai Tiniali. Upon frisking both vehicles, the narcotics packed in 286 soap cases were seized.

Earlier, today, a police team from Dibrugarh led by additional SP HQ Bitul Chetia, officer-in-charge Lahowal PS, Monujjwal Gogoi, and IC Mohanbari, arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 35.45 grams of suspected heroin worth Rs 5,44,000 from their possession. Police also recovered five mobile phones.
