Leishemba Sanajaoba on Manipur Violence: Leishemba Sanajaoba has appealed to Governor to intensify efforts to restore peace and normalcy.
As Manipur’s ongoing crisis approaches the two-year mark, Titular King and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has appealed to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to intensify efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the strife-torn state.
Speaking to Northeast Live during the inauguration of the Herachandra Boys Hostel at Bal Vidya Mandir in the Palace Compound, Imphal East, Sanajaoba highlighted the collective yearning for peace among residents from both the hills and the valley.
“I request Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla to do all his maximum so that peace and normalcy could return as soon as possible in the state,” he said.
His appeal comes just three days before the crisis completes two years, underscoring the urgency of action.
The event was attended by various MLAs and RSS leaders, adding weight to the call for stability.
Sanajaoba’s plea reflects a growing demand for resolution and healing in Manipur.
It needs to be mentined that, the ethnic violence in Manipur, which began on May 3, 2023, has resulted in significant loss of life and widespread displacement. The two-year-long ethnic violence in the frontier state killed more than 250 people and rendered an estimated 60,000 homeless.
