While some efforts have been initiated by Forest Minister, Wanki, the villagers have urged the government to take permanent measures.

Arunachal Pradesh is home to many unexplored wonders that remain unknown to the outside world. These hidden gems not only spark curiosity but also hold immense potential for tourism. One such marvel is the unique salt water well, locally known as Nimok Pung, located on a hillock in Subang village, Tirap district.

What makes this well extraordinary is that its water is entirely salty. According to the villagers of the Subang Village, According to local villagers, there was a time when a significant part of Arunachal Pradesh and eastern Assam relied on the salt extracted from this well. The salt was processed and used by communities, and during the barter system era, villagers from Arunachal carried processed salt to exchange it for essentials like lentils and oil.

While some efforts have been initiated by Arunachal Pradesh’s Forest Minister, Wanki Lowang, the villagers have urged the government to take permanent measures to boost tourism in the area. They believe that proper infrastructure and promotion could turn Nimok Pung into a major tourist attraction, bringing economic benefits to the region while preserving its cultural and historical significance.
