Arunachal Pradesh youth Miram Taron arrived at Tuting today, finally reuniting with his family after 14 days since he was taken captive by the Chinese PLA and released subsequently the following intervention by the Indian Army.

It may be mentioned that Miram Taron was released by the PLA on Thursday last and handed over to the Indian Army at the Wacha Damai interaction point at Kibithu in Anjaw district. Taron spent over a week in the captivity of the Chinese PLA after he went missing on January 18. The release comes after constant communication between the Indian Army and the PLA.

Taron had gone missing from Bishing area of the Tuting sub-division in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district, where he had gone hunting.

Speaking exclusively with Northeast Live Taron informed that he and friend Johny lost their way while hunting following which he was taken captive by the Chinese Army.

“Losing my way in the dark I did not know I was in which country. After which I was taken captive. I was blindfolded and was struck by my captors as well,” Taron recounted.

He was welcomed by his family, villgers as well as local public representatives. Representatives of the Indian Army was present during the emotional moment as well.
