Arunachal Pradesh: Petrol pump cashier suspected to be abducted by militants released after 20 days in captivity

After almost 20 days since he was kidnapped on April 26 from Momong village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district, Dinesh Sharma a cashier at a fuel outlet in the village was released today by the abductors. As per inputs, Sharma was set free near Medo in Wakro circle in Lohit district of the frontier state.
Further details are awaited and security agencies are reportedly questioning Dinesh Sharma after his safe release.
It may be mentioned here that Dinesh Sharma was abducted by a suspected of group of heavily armed militants. Another individual identified as Mithai Marandi who was injured after being shot by the militants, succumbed to his injuries after 6 days (May 2).
No group had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping but prime facie it appeared that extortion was the reason behind the kidnapping.
