Fifty recently selected National Health Mission nursing officers staged a silent protest on Thursday, outside the NHM office in Naharlagun, after a notification stated that their recruitment stands cancelled.

On 18 August, a written examination was conducted for the post of Nursing Officers for Tomo Riba Institute Of Health And Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) hospital wherein out of 578 candidates, 278 were selected for viva voice.

Accordingly, 50 candidates were selected and were asked to bring their documents for verification on the 1st of September. However, no concerned officials came forward to verify their documents.

Moreover, they were informed that they will have to re-conduct the exam due to some technical errors, to which the nurses demanded that the authorities should come forward with a proper explanation.
