Arunachal: Minor Girls Rescued From Human Trafficking Network, Accused Arrested

The prime suspect Mughaka Awomi , a resident of Dimapur, Nagaland, has been arrested in connection with this case.

In a swift and coordinated operation, the Siang District Police successfully rescued two minor girls, aged 15 and 17, who were lured from their homes in Boleng under false promises of employment and trafficked to Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The prime suspect Mughaka Awomi , a resident of Dimapur, Nagaland, has been arrested in connection with this case.

On June 10, a complaint was lodged at the Boleng Police station by the father of one of the missing girls. Thereafter a formal case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita. Through meticulous technical surveillance, Siang District Police traced the victims to Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
On June 15, with the assistance of Vidhan Sabha Police Station, Raipur, the police rescued both the victims.

As per Siang District Police, on June 4, the girls traveled from Boleng to Pasighat, then to Guwahati, and finally to Raipur by train, with all arrangements made by the accused from Raipur. Upon arrival, the victims discovered no that there are no jobs, leaving them vulnerable until their rescue by Police.
However, both minors were found in the company of the accused. The minors had been deceived with false job offers facilitated through social media.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused is linked to a broader human trafficking network, Siang District Police stated.
