GSP national spokesperson underlined the party’s commitment towards combating corruption in the state
The Gana Suraksha party (GSP) said on Friday that the party is gearing up to compete in the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections and also field candidates for the Lok Sabha polls next year from Arunachal Pradesh.
Speaking to media in Itanagar, Sheetal Toko said that the party intends to field candidates in 35 of the 60 assembly seats and field candidates for both Lok Sabha seats from Arunachal Pradesh – Arunachal East and Arunachal West.
“We may have taken some time to set up as we are in the initial stages, but now we are prepared and ready to enter the fray. This being our debut election, we are planning to contest 35 assembly seats out of the total 60. If we manage to secure around 32 or 33 seats, we can form the government,” said a confident sounding Toko Sheetal.
“For the past four decades, the state has been under the rule of something like a ‘dark government’ where lawlessness prevails (Yaha jungle raaj hain aur isko hume todhna hain). Corruption is deeply rooted, from the grassroots level to the highest level of power. It’s like an unbroken chain that we must break. Nepotism and favouritism are rampant, and if we intend to put an end to this, we must possess a strong vision and unwavering determination,” Sheetal said underscoring her party’s commitment to fight corruption and work towards the overall development of the state.
Sheetal also highlighted the need for change in the government to bring justice in cases like the APPSC (Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission) scam.
She urged the people to give the GSP a chance.”I urge the citizens to allow us the opportunity to work and make the right decisions for our state.”
