Arunachal Cong to contest all 60 Assembly seats next year: Zirgi Kadu

Arunachal Pradesh Congress is all geared up to contest all the 60 seats in the Assembly elections to be held next year.

In an exclusive interview with Northeast Live, Zirgi Kadu, the General Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), shared the party’s robust preparations for the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections.

The APCC is set on a mission to fill all 60 seats in the Scheduled Tribe assembly constituencies, demonstrating a determined effort to secure a significant presence in the state legislature, Kadu said.

Kadu further said that the Congress in Arunachal has unequivocally endorsed a commitment to ensure clean and fair elections. Zirgi Kadu emphasized the party’s dedication to conducting elections with integrity and transparency.

The party is actively working on coming out with a comprehensive manifesto for the upcoming elections.

Kadu highlighted that they are meticulously examining crucial state issues to develop policies that address the needs of the people and contribute to overall development.
He said that the Congress party is enthused with the presence of experienced leaders like Kumar Waii and Tanga Byaliang.

“This influx of experienced figures adds strength and depth to the party’s leadership,” Kadu said.

In 2019, Congress contested in 46 of the 60 seats and had won only 4 seats.

The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections would be held either in or before April, 2024. The term of the current Pema Khandu led BJP government will end in May, 2024.
