Armed Robbers Loot Assam Businessman of Gold and Lakhs in Cash, Leaves Him Seriously Injured

The incident happened around 2 AM on Wednesday at the house of Junaid Ahmed, a well-known businessman in the area.

A businessman living in Barjatrapur area in Assam’s Cachar district sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a group of 10 armed robbers who robbed him of at least Rs 2 lakh and gold jewellery worth several lakhsn of rupees.

The incident happened around 2 AM on Wednesday at the house of Junaid Ahmed, a well-known businessman in the area. About ten robbers, all wearing monkey caps and carrying guns and sharp weapons, broke into his house by cutting the grill and breaking the main door open.

They pointed guns at the family members of Ahmed and took away Rs. 2 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth several lakhs. When Junaid Ahmed tried to stop them, the robbers beat him up very badly. He is now in the hospital recovering. Police reached the spot soon after being informed and have started an investigation.

But so far, they have not found any clue about the robbers.People in the area are scared and angry and have asked the police to increase night patrolling in the area.
