The 12-hour shutdown called against anomalies in the APPSC called by the All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) today in the Itanagar capital complex areas, passed off peacefully. No violent incidents were reported during the shutdown, as other federating students bodies including the Pakke Kessang District Students Union, All Sagalee District Students Union besides others expressed solidarity to the ANSU’s agitation.
“We have elected you, if you don’t listen to our voice, than who will?” This was indeed a clarion call by different agitating students’ groups who expressed solidarity to the All Nysihi Students Union (ANSU)’s 12-hour shutdown against the APPSC Paper Leak case.

However, the students’ groups have warned of further intensifying their agitation, if the government fails to deliver justice and book all the perpetrators who are behind the scam.
Northeast Live was on ground zero during the shutdown in the Itanagar Capital Complex and spoke to the agitating leaders on the streets, chanting slogans in support of their demands.
“Our main point is APPSC paper leak issues. It is a very serious issue. ANSU did not call us to participate, but considering the seriousness of the issue we have come together. We do not want corruption to happen in our state. Because every parents have their dreams and aspirations about their child to become able persons and serve the society. But, if somebody in the higher authority resorts to irregularities like backdoor entry as well as other modes, it is not right,” said Nira Gumro, who is the former president of the All Pakke Kessang District Students Union.
The All Sagalee District Students Union, thanked Northeast Live for the extensive coverage on the entire series of developments pertaining to the APPSC paper leak issue.

The sense of morale among the youths is high and can be gauged from the fact when they said, “Being an intellectual, our aspiration is that we become efficient officers. But today in our state, massive scam is happening because of which everyone has joined hands and come here against it.”
Tana Roja who is the Finance Secretary of the All Sagalee District Students Union said that the shutdown was the first step of the ongoing agitation and affirmed that it will continue until the 13-Point Charter of Demands are fulfilled.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Roja urged Chief Minister Pema Khandu for finding a suitable solution to all these (irregularities, corruption), while mentioning that the nation has become digital and transparency has prevailed everywhere.
“We have elected You, if you don’t listen to our voice, then who will? If my voice is reaching to our Honourable CM Pema Khandu, then please find a solution to this, so that the state can remain ever peaceful,”

On the other hand, an APPSC exam aspirant Gekar Riba said that ANSU’s bandh call was the need of the hour. The APPSC aspirant alleged that probe into the matter was slow and only limited arrests have been made so far. Besides, Gekar Riba feels that former APPSC deputy controller of examination Taken Jerang is not the main kingpin, but someone else against whom action is yet to be initiated.
“We want a fast track probe and justice must be delivered fully,” APPSC aspirant Gekar Riba said.
