Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold discussions on CAB on Friday and the day after with Civil Society Organisations.
According to reports, Chief Ministers of all Northeastern states will be present. Two meetings have been scheduled on November 29 and 30 in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, as per reports civil society groups from Tripura, led by royal scion Pradyot Debbarma will meet union home minister Amit Shah to discuss Citizenship Amendment Bill.
The Union home minister has invited Debbarma and civil societies of the state to discuss CAB and seek their views on the bill before re-tabling it in the Parliament.
Debbarma later took to social media to announce, he wrote, “Will be meeting the Home Minister with others from Tripura and express my reservations on CAB in its present form and offer suggestions and solutions for the protection of our indigenous people. Let’s see what happens next. We have a view and we want the government to respect our sentiments and offer us protection so that we can exist. He added, to all those in doubt, I am not joining BJP so relax. I am happy being Babagra.”
