Advantage Assam 2.0: Why Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Anil Agarwal, Sajjan Jindal, Anil Chalamalasetty, Prashant Rui’s Assam Visit is Big News?

India’s top industrialists, billionaires Mukesh Ambani, Gauram Adani, Anil Agarwal, Sajjan Jindal and his mother Savitri Jindal, Prashant Rui, Anil Chalamalasetty are all attending the Advantage Assam 2.0 infrastructure and investment summit to be held on February 25-26.
We take a look at why there presence in Assam is big news.

MUKESH AMBANI, CMD, Reliance Industries: He is the richest person in India and ranked 18th in the world with an individual net worth of $92 billion as per the Forbes Richest Indians list 2025.
Reliance Industries is a Fortune 500 company and the largest private sector corporation of the country. The company with a net worth of Rs operates across sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, retail, telecom, textiles, entertainment and digital services. Ambani is expected to make a big announcement regarding investments in the energy sector.

GAUTAM ADANI, Founder & Chairman, Adani Group: He is the second richest person in India with a net worth of $53.5 billion and is 27th richest man in the world as per the Forbes Richest Indians list 2025. Adani Group’s businesses include sea and airport management, electricity generation and transmission, mining, natural gas, food, weapons, and infrastructure to name a few. The Group is already managing the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. Gautam Adani too is expected to make some big investment announcements.

ANIL AGARWAL, Chairman Vedanta Group: Popularly known as the metal king, Anil Agarwal’s net worth is estimated at $2.01 billion according to Forbes. Agarwal’s Vednata Resources Limited is a natural resources conglomerate.
Agarwal is expected to make investment announcements in the mines and minerals sector.

SAJJAN JINDAL, CMD, Jindal Group of Companies: JSW companies are present in steel, mining, energy, sports, infrastructure and software. Sajjan Jindal is the son of Savitri Jindal, the richest woman of India with $33.6 billion and 56th richest person in the world as per the Forbes 10 riches people of India 2025. Savitri Jindal too is attending the summit.
Announcements from the Jindals are expected in the industry and sports sectors.

PRASHANT RUIA, Director, Essar Group: The group companies own a assets in energy, infrastructure and logistics, metals and mining, technology and retail.
The Essar Group is expected to make announcements regarding investments and partnerships in retail and metals and mining sectors.

ANIL CHALAMALASETTY, Chief Executive & Managing Director, Greenko: Experienced in mergers and acquisitions, transition and project management involving large remote teams, Anil Chalamalasetty is the co-founder of Greenko that was set up in 2004.
Greenko is one of the world’s leading energy transition and decarbonization solutions company with an installed Renewable Energy capacity of ~7.5 Gigawatt across Wind, Solar and Hydro capacities with presence in 15 states in India.
Anil Chalamalasetty is expected to announce investment and tie-ups given the fact that assam has a renewable energy potential of 14,487 megawatt and aims for 500 MW f solar capacity by 2027. The assam renewable energy policy is targeting a total renewable capacity of 1,200 MW.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had mentioned that though the state Cabinet had approved MoUs worth Rs 1.22 lakh crores, industry leaders are likely to make separate investment announcements and partnerships and collaborations in energy, infrastructure, finance, technology, education, healthcare, IT etc.
