Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma gave away appointment letters to the kins of Majuli Boat Mishap victims at Guwhati today. Madhumita Das sister of deceased Parimita Das and Ruprekha Bora Senapati wife of Indreshwar Bora received their appointment letters from Assam CM.
The decision to offer government jobs was taken by the Assam Cabinet in December last year. Madhumita Das has been appointed as the Lecturer at State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) while Ruprekha Bora Senapati has been appointed as a Grade IV employee in District Primary Education Office
The family of Dr. Bikramjit Baruah, one of the casualties of the tragic ferry capsize of will receive his full salary till the date he was supposed to retire.
A motor boat collided head-on to a ferry coming from Majuli near Nimatighat on Sepetember 9th. Both ferries carrying hundreds of passengers had a miraculous escape apart from the unfortunate three.
Taking to Twitter CM Sarma wrote “Though loss of human lives can’t be compensated, we’re trying to help next of kin of those who died at Nimatighat ferry incident. Gave away appointment letters to Smt Madhumita Das, sister of deceased Parinita Das, & Smt Ruprekha Bora Senapati, wife of deceased Indreswar Bora.”
“While the family of Dr Bikramjit Baruah, who too perished, will get full salary till his retirement,financial help will be given to families of all the deceased when required. Education Dept to get along with Finance Dept to ensure that appointees get their first salary in time,” he wrote further.
