4 Dead, 16 Injured in 3 Separate Road Accidents Across Assam

Two women, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, sustained grievous injuries and succumbed on their way to the hospital.

At least 4 people lost their lives and 16 others sustained injuries in 3 separate road accidents reported from different parts of Assam.

The first incident occurred this morning in Hojai district, where an Alto vehicle coming from Guwahati was hit by a bus en route to Nagaon from Diphu.

The crash took place on the National Highway at Lalmati near Doboka.

Two women, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, sustained grievous injuries and succumbed on their way to the hospital. 5 others injured in the collision are currently receiving treatment.

In another tragic mishap reported from Sonitpur district late last night, a car carrying 4 individuals skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge.

2 of the occupants, identified as Ranjit Sahani and Mithun Sahani, died on the spot. The remaining two injured were rescued by locals and rushed for medical aid.

The third incident was reported from Teok in Jorhat district, where a vehicle carrying a group of Bihu dancers (nasonis) and drummers (dhuliyas) met with an accident after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

At least 9 people sustained injuries in the accident.
