4.2 magnitude quake hits China’s Xizang, tremors felt in Sikkim

The epicentre of the earthquake was located at Latitude 28.28 and Longitude 87.87, at a depth of 30 kilometres, the NCS stated.

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit China’s Xizang on Sunday according to National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

Tremors of the quake was felt in North and West part of Sikkim. However, no causality has been reported so far.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located at Latitude 28.28 and Longitude 87.87, at a depth of 30 kilometres, the NCS stated.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.2, Occurred on 28-04-2024, 21:25:12 IST, Lat: 28.28 & Long: 87.87, Depth: 30 Km, Location: Xizang,” said National Center for Seismology in a post on X.

Further details are awaited.
