35-Year-Old Man Beaten to Death in Tripura For Allegedly Stealing at School

Tripura witnessed a shocking incident where a 35-year-old man, suspected of theft, was allegedly beaten to death by a mob. The incident occurred at Bashpaduya Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Belonia, South Tripura district.
According to Sibu Ranjan De, Officer-in-Charge of Belonia police station, the victim, identified as Babul Miah, was caught on suspicion of theft after scaling the school’s boundary wall. A mob gathered and brutally assaulted him before tying him up.
Police rushed to the scene this morning after receiving information and found Miah critically injured. He was immediately taken to Belonia Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Miah, a resident of Muzaffar Colony, was accused of being caught red-handed. Upon hearing of his death, his family rushed to the hospital and broke down in grief.
Police have registered a suo motu case and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are probing those involved in the mob attack, raising concerns over vigilantism and unlawful justice in the region.
