203 Weapons, IEDs, and Explosives Recovered in Major Crackdown Across Manipur Hills, Major Success for Manipur Police and Security Forces

In one of the biggest recoveries in recent times, security forces in Manipur launched a series of coordinated and intelligence-based operations from the midnight of July 3 to the morning of July 4, leading to the recovery of a massive cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from multiple hill districts.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of a large stockpile of arms and warlike materials hidden in various interior and suspected locations, joint teams comprising the Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) carried out simultaneous search operations across Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and Churachandpur districts.
The operations led to the recovery of 203 weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, and several explosives, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and grenades.

The Director General of Police, Manipur, said in a press release that these intelligence-driven, high-impact operations mark a major step forward in the state’s efforts to curb illegal arms circulation and restore lasting peace.
“These recoveries underline our commitment to ensuring public safety, restoring normalcy, and protecting the lives and property of our citizens,” the release stated. “We are working in close coordination with all security stakeholders and will continue such operations in a sustained and focused manner.”
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities or information related to illegal arms to the nearest police station or the Central Control Room.

It may be noted that, recently on June 14, over 300 illegal arms has also been recovered in a joint operation launched by Manipur Police, CAPFs, Army and Assam Rifles in five valley districts of Manipur, Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur, Imphal East and imphal West.
