17 Including Child And Police Officer Injured in Violent Clash Over Land Dispute in Assam’s Cachar

Among the injured were women, a police officer, and a young child, all of whom are receiving treatment at Kalain CHC.

As many as seventeen people including a child and a police officer, were injured in a violent clash over a long-standing land dispute at Karchura, under Kalain police station in Assam’s Cachar district.

The incident occurred yesterday when two groups engaged in a fierce fight using machetes and sticks over a disputed piece of land along National Highway 6.

Among the injured were women, a police officer, and a young child, all of whom are receiving treatment at Kalain CHC.

The dispute had been ongoing for nearly a year, escalating into this violent confrontation.

Authorities have launched a probe into the matter to determine the cause and take necessary action.
