109 Acres of Poppy Cultivation Destroyed in Just 2 Days, 12 Huts Burned Down in Phalee Hill Range

Manipur’s campaign against drug-related activities continues, with 109 acres of poppy cultivation destroyed in just two days.
In a major operation, combined forces of Manipur Police, 6 Manipur Rifles, 18 Assam Rifles, and the Forest Department eradicated 90 acres of poppy plantations in the Phalee hill range under Lungchong Maiphei Police Station in Ukhrul district.
Additionally, 12 huts associated with the illegal activity were burned down. An FIR has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
In a separate operation, Senapati Police, Forest Department officials, and an Executive Magistrate successfully cleared 19 acres of poppy fields in the Khabung hill range.
This operation, directed by ASP (NH-2), involved coordinated efforts of multiple police units from Senapati, Hengbung, Tadubi, Mao, and Maram.
Drones were deployed to identify hidden fields near Khabung village. An FIR has also been lodged for this case.
