3 round of talks between ATSUM & HAC remains inconclusive

Despite 3 rounds of talks between the All Tribal Students Union Manipur and the Hill Areas Committee over the ADC Bill, 2021 and the arrest of 5 ATSUM leaders, efforts remained futile as the two sides failed to come to an agreement.

Paul Karang informed Northeast Live that the talks had failed to yield any result and that more discussions may follow in the following days.

Make stand clear on ADC Bill, 2021 : ATSUM

The ATSUM has also written to the Chairman and members of the Hill Areas Committee to make clear their political stand on the HAC recommended ADC bill 2021 and the recent Manipur (Hill Areas) district councils 6th and 7th amendment bill 2022 which it termed as imposed and controversial.

The All Tribal Students Union Manipur has taken a stand stating that the attempt to refer to a select committee violates the conduct of business.
