Sonamura is an Assembly constituency in Tripura. In 2018, CPIM candidate Shyamal Chakraborty won the seat by defeating BJp's Subal Bhowmik
Sonamura is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Tripura state in India. It is in Sipahijala district and a part of West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.
In 2018, the constituency had 40,406 electors. In 2023 the population of the constituency is approximately 15,400.
CPIM candidate Shyamal Chakraborty is the sitting MLA of Sonamura constituency. He won the seat by defeating SUBAL BHOWMIK of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 3432 votes.
He is again contesting the 2023 assembly elections from Sonamura constituency.
