TIPRA Motha chief reacts to NEDA Convenor’s ‘Don’t waste your vote on TIPRA Motha’ remark

Responding to Assam Chief Minister and the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Convenor, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s statement ‘Dont’ waste your vote on TIPRA Motha in the upcoming elections in Tripura’, chief of the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA Motha), Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, said that no party is big or small and that we have a right to the votes of the Tiprasa people and that they will vote for whoever speaks about them.
Pradyot Kishore Debbarma said that those who think that casting votes for us is a waste will know whose votes are a waste and whose votes put a party in power after the results of the Assembly election will be announced on March 2, 2023.
He said, “NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma is a good friend of mine. I want to tell him that there was a time when people in Assam considered voting for the BJP a waste. AGP was a big party then, but today BJP is a big party in Assam whereas AGP is nowhere.”
Citing that BJP today has more than 300 MPs, compared to just 2 in 1984, he said that the public should not be taken lightly because today TIPRA Motha is a small party but it can become large tomorrow and BJP can turn small.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a public rally at Krishnapur Assembly Constituency in Khowai district for Bikas Debbarma, BJP candidate targetted TIPRA Motha saying the party is not in a position to form government anyhow and urged the people of Tripura not to waste their votes on TIPRA Motha. He said that voting for TIPRA Motha and not voting are equivalent as it can never form a government.
“BJP will not let Tripura be divided in two parts. We will work for tribal’s development, for their job and employment. We cleared that Tripura will be one state and we will work for the progress and the development of Tripura,” said CM Sarma.
Tripura is going to polls on February 16, 2023 and the results will be declared on March 2, 2023.
