Meet Pragyat Prasun, Class 8 Student Who Designed a Sewage Cleaning Robot and Is Making Tripura Proud

Just in his teens, Pragyat Prasun, a Class 8 student of Kendriya Vidyalay, New Delhi is winning laurels with his innovative Sewage Cleaning Robot designed to tackle the dangers of manual scavenging.
Pragyat won the first position at the KVS National Level Science Exhibition held in New Delhi on April 7 and 8, 2025 with his Sewage Cleaning Robot.
At the event, Pragyat showcased his innovative Sewage Cleaning Robot designed to overcome the limitations of current sewage systems and reduce human health hazards by manually scavenging of Sewage.
What Inspired Pragyat To Design the Sewage Cleaning Robot?
Speaking about his achievement, Pragyat said, “I am feeling very happy and proud. My inspiration to build this robot came from three things: promoting the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, reducing health risks of manual scavenging, and the Delhi coaching centre tragedy in 2024 where 3 students lost their lives due to a sewer blockage.”
Who is Pragyat Prasun?
Pragyat Prasun has recently moved to Delhi from Tirpura and has big dreams of bringing further laurels to the Northeast.
A self-driven young innovator, he began building robots from electronic scrap during childhood passion that has now blossomed into award-winning inventions, thanks to the guidance of his teachers and Principal.
Beyond robotics, Pragyat is a grandmaster in yoga and holds 8 records, including 5 world records.
In 2024, he interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, sharing his vision for innovation in both robotics and yoga.
His future plan is to learn advanced coding, improve his own models, and contribute to society through robotics.
