“Manik Sarkar kept on branding himself as a Poor CM,” Pradyot Debbarma’s sharp attack on former 5-time Tripura CM

Pradyot accused Manik Sarkar of deliberately keeping the Tiprasas deprived of a better life, so that they would sell their votes in exchange of money.

TIPRA Motha chief and Tripura Royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma today launched a blazing attack on former 4-time Chief Minister and CPIM veteran Manik Sarkar.

Sharing stage with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha in a massive election rally in support of Tripura BJP West candidate Biplab Kumar Deb in Khumulwng, Pradyot in his sharp attack accused Manik Sarkar of just branding himself as the “Poor Chief Minister” during his 25-years regime.

If that was not all, Pradyot accused Manik Sarkar of deliberately keeping the Tiprasas deprived of a better life, so that they would sell their votes in exchange of money.

Pradyot addressing a sea of BJP, TIPRA Motha and IPFT supporters at the Khumpui Academy Ground, Khumulwng said, “One side there is love for the people and on the other side it is the anger of the CPI. On one hand we want to bring a solution but on the other side the CPI M wants to thokai (bluff) us. We intend to give pattas, land rights to the Tiprasas for a better future and on the other side is Manik Sarkar, who always kept branding (marketing) himself across India as the poorest Chief Minister.

An indigenous population like the Tiprasas which is deprived cannot be found anywhere else in other Northeast states, but it is only in the case of Tripura. Why?

You (CPIM-Manik Sarkar) ruled for 25 years, but why you could not provide us drinking water during your term, why was there no development in those 25 years? You were engaged in marketing for 25 years across India, that Tiprasas are insurgents, Tiprasas are violent, Tiprasas do not understand anything. You kept us (Tiprasas) poor, because he knew that if Tiprasas are kept deprived (poor) than they will sell their votes for a mere Rs 100 or Rs 500.”

Hailing the Tiprasa Accord, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma also heaped praise on the Centre for their decisive leadership.

Highlighting the essence of the tripartite agreement signed on March 2, Pradyot said, “Before too, lots of governments existed, but this is the first that there is such an agreement (Tipra Accord), where no houses have been burnt, there is no bloodshed, neither did any human life was lost, this is the first ever agreement in Tripura where no life of any Borok, Bru, Tiprasa, Bengali, Hindu, Muslim or a Chrisitian has been lost. This is the first agreement where we without any bloodshed, without firing a bullet, without putting anyone at problem, have democratically, Bubagra by going into a hunger strike, fighting, without any compromise have given something to the Tiprasas.”

However, Pradyot said, “Lekin Picture Abhi Baaki Hain (The chapter is not over yet). A lot still needs to be done.”

CM Manik Saha also spoke to newspersons after the rally and said, “I have already expressed my feelings in my speech, I am very happy after coming here. I have seen the 3 parties- BJP, TIPRA Motha and the IPFT, we arranged this rally, the people are very supportive. They actually support our PM Narendra Modi. After the Accord, this is the first meeting we had today, this is the trailer lekin picture abhi baki hain.”
