SDF member Ramesh Rai allegedly attacked by unknown miscreants at his residence

A week after SDF vice president Binod Rai was allegedly attacked, another incident of violence against SDF member has been reported in Sikkim.

Ramesh Rai, SDF Vice President of Press-Publicity and Social Media for South District, was allegedly attacked last night at his residence in Salleybong by unknown miscreants. Rai has sustained injuries in the attack.

As per police sources, a case has been registered under relevant IPC sections like 324,506, etc.

A person who voluntarily causes hurt to any person using dangerous weapons is liable to punishment under Section 324 IPC. 

While Section 506 under IPC deals with anyone who commits an offense of criminal intimidation.

On February 16, former MLA and SDF vice president Binod Rai was allegedly assaulted by miscreants when he went for a morning walk. Rai sustained serious injuries.

Four miscreants wearing masks came in a black vehicle and brutally attacked Rai with rods, stones and sharp weapons, a statement said.
