Manipur and Sikkim CMs to further strengthen trade ties, work for welfare of the people

Both the CMs agree to work together towards improving the economies and the living standards of the people of both the northeastern states.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and his Manipur counterpart N Biren Singh on Friday agreed to further strengthen the ties between the two states and work together towards improving the economies and the living standards of the people of both the northeastern states.
The two CMs also agreed to make Northeast the “growth engine of the Nation”, a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


“As Northeast Indian states get closer with enhanced connectivity, we will continue to work together to fulfil Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of making North East the growth engine of the Nation,” Manipur CM Singh said after meeting with his Sikkim counterpart.
The CMs met this morning in Imphal.
Both the Chief Ministers deliberated on a host of key issues including trade and commerce, tourism besides others.
Earlier, the Sikkim Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at the Imphal International Airport to attend the historic Shandmashik Vishwa Shanti Mahayagya at Santolabari.

The Sikkim Chief Minister was accompanied by Sikkim Commerce and Industries minister BS Panth, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista and SD Shakal who is the secretary to the Sikkim Chief Minister.
