Sikkim: HSP’s working president Neeknor Pradhan and Spokesperson Tara Pd. Bhattarai resign

Both the leaders cited "ideological differences" and "the undemocratic functioning of power of the president of the party, Bhaichung Bhutia," as the reasons behind quitting the party

Hamro Sikkim Party‘s working president, Neeknor Pradhan and Publicity secretary cum Spokesperson Tara Pd. Bhattarai resigned from the party.

They both tendered their resignation to the General Secretary of the party, Biraj Adhikari on Monday (March 20).

Both Neeknor Pradhan and Tara Pd. Bhattarai had tendered their resignation, citing “ideological differences” and “the undemocratic functioning of power of the president of the party, Bhaichung Bhutia,” as the reasons behind quitting the party.

Neeknor Pradhan in his resignation letter said, “It is because of the ideological differences and the undemocratically functioning of the president, violating the objectives of the association, hence lost my faith in his leadership.”

On the other hand, Tara Pd. Bhattarai in his resignation letter said, “This has been necessitated due to ideological differences that I have experienced during my time in the party as well as the undemocratic functioning of power by the president along with violating of objectives of the party.”

He further stated that collaborative decision-making in the party has become meaningless under the leadership of party president Bhaichung Bhutia.

Neeknor Pradhan, who is also a renowned social and political activist joined HSP in September last year.

Tara Pd. Bhattarai joined the party in October of last year.
