1 woman killed, several injured in two separate road accidents in Sikkim

Following the horrific accident, one woman lost her life on the spot while 8 other sustained injuries.

One woman was killed and eight others were injured when the vehicle carrying them skidded off almost 50 feet below the road and fell into a gorge in Sikkim’s Geyzing today.

The incident took place at 7th mile in the Upper Kyongsa village in Geyzing.

The deceased woman has been identified as Anju Lepcha.

Injured persons were immediately rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

One injured person who suffered critical injuries has reportedly been referred to Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial hospital.

In another incident, five people were injured after a Gangtok-to-Khamdong passenger bus collided head on with a vehicle inside the Topakhani tunnel.

The injured persons were taken to Singtam Hospital but later they were shifted to Manipal Referral hospital for better treatment.
