Liezietsu further said,"It was election in the name only in which political ideology and principles have no place. Even election manifesto has no meaning for the people."
NPF president Shurhozelie Liezietsu today alleged that money power had influenced the recently concluded Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections. Besides, the former Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on the ruling alliance partners-NDPP and BJP.
NPF president Shurhozelie Liezietsu addressing a party program in a sensational allegation said,”Despite many difficulties that we have faced before the election, we have seen that the last election was purely a money game. It was like a gambling bout for the highest bidder, who becomes the winner.”
Liezietsu further said,”It was election in the name only in which political ideology and principles have no place. Even election manifesto has no meaning for the people.”
The NPF president also came down heavily on the NDPP, BJP alliance. Shurhozelie Liezietsu further alleged,”With their money and other government machineries, the ruling alliance partners had put in maximum efforts to crush NPF. however, against all these onslaughts, NPF’s two MLAs survived and therefore I told them ‘Big winners’.
The NPF president also slammed the 21 NPF MLAs led by former Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who had jumped ship to the NDPP in April, 2022 with less than a year for the assembly elections.
In this context Liezietsu said, “it was a well planned action with mischievous calculation made by some of our by them to defect only at the eleventh hour so that NPF was not given any chance to reorganize itself to face the election in 10 months time.”
“Indeed the purpose have served them well in weakening the NPF party to it’s lowest ebb. But I do not admit that this was the weakness of the party. It was indeed, a plan to destroy NPF but they have failed to achieve their ill motive goal,” Liezietsu added.
The NPF president was speaking at an event organized by the party to felicitate MLA Azo Nienu and MLA Achumbemo Kikon Manipur NPF President Minsiter Awangbow Newmai as well as other party functionaries were present on the occasion.
