Citizens in Kohima attended the New Year devotional services in their respective churches today with much enthusiasm to welcome the New Year and sought blessings for the new beginning.
The Kohima Konyak Baptist Church celebrated the New beginning of 2023 and the first Sunday of the year with songs of blessings and the Gospel message delivered by the pastor. The entire Konyak community irrespective of place observed its annual prayer and will be fasting tomorrow as part of traditions to seek God’s blessing for a prosperous year ahead.
Nagaland State Chaplin Rev.T.W Yamyap Konyak spoke to Northeast Live on the occasion and believes that 2023 will usher in change for the good.
When asked about his message to the people especially when there is no solution to the Naga political issue and elections round the corner, Yamyap said, “It is very difficult to say the right answer because the situation in Nagaland is something that no one can predict it.”
However, the State Chaplin firmly believes that God will be with the people and he will do whatever possible on his part to fix things. While referring to the Naga issue and the demand for creation of a Frontier Nagaland, Rev.T.W Yamyap Konyak affirmed that he will always be with the legislative members and sees that there will be a change coming to everyone in 2023.
Not only this, Yamyap is of the view that the newly elected members (since elections are due) will take up the matters seriously so that the people can see some change.
