The session also evaluated security preparedness for the new railway link.
A crucial meeting held at the Mizoram Chief Minister’s Office today focused on enhancing the State’s Online Inner Line Permit (ILP) system and strengthening railway policing in preparation for the upcoming inauguration of the Sairang Railway Station, expected by mid-June.
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma chaired the session, which was attended by Home Minister Pu K Sapdanga and senior officials. The meeting reviewed the current status of the digital ILP platform and discussed key updates planned for the Phase 2 rollout.
While notable progress has been made in digitizing the ILP system, officials acknowledged that infrastructure limitations in certain regions still necessitate partial offline processing. Emphasis was also laid on implementing stricter enforcement mechanisms to address cases of overstaying beyond the permitted ILP duration.
The session also evaluated security preparedness for the new railway link. The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DP\&AR) presented a provisional plan identifying key locations for Railway Police deployment, with site inspections to follow soon.
Home Department Secretary Pu Vanlalmawia submitted a comprehensive progress report with feedback from district-level administrators. A live demonstration of the ILP portal was given by ICT Department Informatics Officer Pu Lalrinfela, prompting detailed discussions on potential enhancements.
The meeting concluded with a clear directive to finalize all preparations ahead of the Sairang Station’s commissioning.
