Mizoram Polls: Will MNF be able to better its 2018 tally? Minister Lalruatkima hopeful of grabbing 26-30 seats

Earlier, opposition ZPM had claimed that it would win more than 30 seats in the ensuing election
With Mizoram heading close to the assembly elections, the political parties are now working on the equations to make sure that they get the desired numbers for forming the government.
In fact, the numbers game has already begun with parties making early predictions on their winnability in the ensuing elections.
At this juncture, it is crucial as to how the ruling MNF is looking at things. Will it be able to increase its tally from 27 in 2018 and stick to power?
Mizoram IPR Minister and MNF Adviser Lalruatkima is a confident man and hopes that his party will sail through in the election by getting a clear majority.
Speaking to Northeast Live, minister Lalruatkima said, “We expect 25-30 seats. We will get majority. MNF will get the majority to form the government. WE will be forming the government, I hope.”
Lalruatkima also ruled out that the MNF would go for a post poll alliance. He said, “There will be no alliance, we never formed post-election alliance. There are no chances of post-poll alliance. Post poll alliance will not be required.”
Reacting to ZPM’s claims that the opposition party would secure victory in over 30 seats and that MNF will face loss in the 11 constituencies under the Aizawl district, Lalruatkima said, “No ZPM will not get 30+ seats. They will not get. No they can’t decide, people will decide. I hope that I will win. Out of the 11 constituencies MNF will win more than 6 constituencies. Overall it will be 25-30.”
The MNF minister also refuted the allegations made by the ZPM that the ruling party had failed to fulfil the promise of giving Rs 3 lakh to every family in Mizoram for sustainable livelihood.
Responding to this Lalruatkima said, “We have not promised distribution of Rs 3 lakh to the beneficiaries under the Socio Economic Development Program (SEDP). It is an economic policy of the MNF party.
Regarding this issue, we had many problems like COVID-19 and the border issues as well as forest fire during that period when it was launched. In this socio economic program, we have the infrastructure program and the family oriented program. We are not promising Rs 3 lakh to the beneficiaries.”
