Mizoram: Heroin worth over Rs 13 crore seized

Mizoram: Crackdown on drugs menace continues. Huge consignment of heroin recovered by police. Further probe underway.
Mizoram Police have intensified the War on Drugs and has seized a huge consignment of heroin worth over Rs 13 crore. As per inputs, information was received last night at Zonuam Outpost (Aizawl District) from reliable source regarding suspected contraband drugs being stashed away by unknown persons on the roadside along MZU road. Police party along with 2 civilian witnesses rushed to the spot.
Subsequent to this, the consignment weighing 2.76 kg and valued at Rs 13.8 crore was seized by the Mizoram police. Meanwhile, a case under Sections 21(c)/28/29 of NDPS Act at the Vaivakawn police station.
Meanwhile, thorough investigation is in progress to trace the source and consignee(s) of the seized contraband.
