Mizoram: CRPF ASI Arrested for Allegedly Harassing Minor Girl

The accused CRPF ASI has been identified as 54-year-old Hari Shankar Prasad, who hails from Bihar.

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), currently stationed at Lengpui Airport Security in Mizoram has been arrested on charges of allegedly harassing a minor girl.

The accused CRPF ASI has been identified as 54-year-old Hari Shankar Prasad, who hails from Bihar.

Prasad was produced before the Sessions Judge and subsequently remanded to Aizawl Central Jail today.

The incident occurred on January 19.

Prasad has been charged under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as well as Sections 74 and 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, 2023.

Prasad is scheduled to be produced in court again on February 3, 2025.
