8 More Football Players Banned for Match Fixing in Mizoram Premier League

The fresh bans bring the total number of banned players to 33
The Mizoram Football Association (MFA) has banned 8 more players from all football-related activities for the next 3 years for to their involvement in the ongoing corruption scandal in the Mizoram Premier League (MPL)-11.
The 8 players are:
- Zawnhmingthanga
2.Jones Lalthakima
3.Isak Vanlalpeka
4.Ramdinmawia Hnamte
5.Letminlun Singson
6.Yamy Longvah
7.Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga
8.Rohlupuia
The MFA had previously banned three clubs-Sihphir Venghlun FC, FC Bethlehem, and Ramhlun Athletic FC and 24 players as part of the larger match-fixing scandal. The fresh bans bring the total number of banned players to 33.
Of the 25 players banned, the MFA imposed life bans on two players, five-year bans on four players, three-year bans on ten players, and one-year bans on eight players involved in the alleged corruption.
These players and certain clubs, officials in the recently concluded MPL-11 had indulged in acts of corruption.
The association stated that these players will face strict penalties for unethical actions.
The MFA has called on all players, whether involved or not, to cooperate with the ongoing inquiries fully.
The association also thanked those players who have supported the investigation process, acknowledging their role in helping to uncover the truth.
