Meghalaya: Congress Announces 3 More Candidates for JHADC Polls

The new names were added to the party's list, bringing the total number of candidates announced for the two councils-KHADC and JHADC to 45.

The Congress today announced 3 additional candidates for the upcoming District Council elections in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) in Meghalaya.

The party has fielded Pynbiangmi Laloo for the Mowkaiaw seat, Brosent Siangshai from Musniang-Rangad, and Bashan Tangliang from Sumer in the JHADC polls.

The new names were added to the party’s list, bringing the total number of candidates announced for the two councils-KHADC and JHADC to 45.

Earlier, the party had announced 16 candidates on January 10, with 5 for the JHADC and 11 for the KHADC.

In December 2024, the Congress had released its first list of 26 candidates, with 15 candidates for the KHADC and 11 for the JHADC.

Elections to the KHADC and the JHADC will be held on February 21, 2025.
