9 Bangladeshi Nationals and 3 Indian Facilitators Arrested in Meghalaya

Police recovered 12 mobile handsets with multiple SIM cards, Rs 29,500 in Indian currency, Aadhaar cards, and other incriminating documents.
Continuing the crackdown on border infiltration in Meghalaya, the State Police have arrested 9 Bangladeshi nationals along with 3 Indian facilitators late last night.
The arrests were made during a naka checking by Meghalaya Police at Dalamgre village under Dalu Police Station on Tuesday night.
During the check, the police intercepted a Maruti Eeco and a Maruti car from which the foreign nationals were travelling.
Upon searching the vehicles, police recovered 12 mobile handsets with multiple SIM cards, Rs 29,500 in Indian currency, Aadhaar cards, and other incriminating documents.
Both vehicles, along with the recovered items, have been seized.
Meanwhile, in an ongoing crackdown on motorcycle theft, a team from West Garo Hills District Executive Force (WGH DEF) arrested 2 individuals-one from West Khasi Hills (WKH) district and another from East Khasi Hills (EKH) district.
Three more stolen motorcycles were also recovered during the operation.
With this latest seizure, the total number of recovered motorcycles now stands at 26, retrieved from various locations across the state.
The arrested individuals are currently under investigation, and further legal proceedings are underway.
