On Independence Day PM Modi reiterates, ‘India Stands With Manipur’

PM Modi informed that his government is leaving no stone unturned to restore peace in the violence affected state
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort on the occasion of 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi said that all out efforts are being made to ensure that peace prevails in the state as he once again reiterated that India stands with Manipur.
PM Modi said, “In the last few weeks, Manipur witnessed a wave of violence. Several people lost their lives and our mothers and sisters were dishonoured. But reports of people embracing peace have come in. India stands with Manipur. People of Manipur have maintained peace since the last few days and this must continue. There can be a solution only through peace. The Centre and the State government is making all efforts to resolve the issues and will continue to do that” PM Modi said.
On August 10, PM Modi replying to a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha had mentioned about the government’s efforts to ensure permanent peace in Manipur.
