Manipur violence: 2 more killed, another 2 injured

The violence in Manipur has no end. After the state witnessed fresh violence early this morning where three people belonging to the same family were killed at Kwakta in Bishnupur district, two more persons on the hillside were killed and two others were injured.

As per Sources, miscreants were also reported to have lobbed crude bombs at the security forces.

The first incident happened at Ward No. 8 in the Kwakta Municipal Council, where three villagers were sleeping, when the armed miscreant’s miscreants entered their house and killed them. Of the three killed, two were hacked to death and the third was shot dead.

The victims have been identified as a 67-year-old father and his two sons, aged 46 and 39, respectively.

A large number of security forces continue to be stationed in Bishnupur at the periphery of the hills and valleys to prevent any more untoward incidents from happening.

The distraught family members of the three villagers killed in the violence have sought justice and urged the state as well as the central government to restore peace at the earliest.
