Churachandpur DC distributes relief materials to displaced persons in Singngat

Making sure that all basic supplies are provided to the displaced persons, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Dharuk Kumar S, visited the internally displaced persons currently sheltered in St. Joseph School Relief Camp in Singngat, Manipur, today and distributed relief materials, including blankets, soaps, sanitary pads, and other toiletries, to over 270 displaced persons staying in the relief camp.

He also carried out a spot assessment of the model residential school on the way to Singngat and the under-construction bridge at Maukot Village, Singngat sub-division.

Interacting with the displaced persons, the DC stated that the difficulties faced by the people in the relief camps need to be addressed.

Thanking Father Mung for his considerate care of the displaced persons in St. Joseph School and planning to shift the relief camp to a better place, he urged the people to contact Father Mung or the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) for any issues faced in the relief camp.

Amid the crisis, the District Administration is taking all possible steps to provide support, from uninterrupted supply of basic needs to the public to the affected people.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Thangboi Gangte, ADC, S. Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC (Dev.) Samuel Lhungdim, SDO/BDO, Singngat and Suangdoh, Father Mung of St. Thomas Parish, Singngat, and other officers from the District Administration.
