The Assam Rifles commemorated the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2024, with a grand celebration at Apollo Ground in Tamenglong district, Manipur.

The exhibition presented a chronological collation of key events from the Kargil war, showcasing rare images and illustrations that captured the bravery and strategic prowess of Indian soldiers

The documentary revisited the critical events and honored the Bravehearts of the Kargil war, providing an immersive historical recount.

Over 500 students from seven schools across the Tamenglong district attended the event, gaining a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by soldiers on the front lines. This educational initiative aimed to instill pride and a sense of patriotism among the youth.

Such commemorative events serve as a powerful reminder of the valor and dedication of the Kargil war heroes.

Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrated nationwide, continues to resonate with every Indian, reinforcing values of courage, unity, and patriotism. This observance not only honors the sacrifices of the Indian Armed forces but also fosters a unifying sense of national pride and gratitude.

The 1999 Kargil War was one of the valiant wars fought by the Indian Armed Forces in extremely inhospitable high attitude terrains of Jammu & Kashmir. The bravery of Indian Armed Forces against extreme odds and the sacrifices made by them continue to serve as a source of inspiration to the Nation till this day.

The decisive victory by Indian Armed Forces in Kargil War is celebrated as the Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26 July every year to rekindle the pride and valour of the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay against Pakistan.
