Manipur Police busts narco-terror module

A team of Imphal East Police recovered heroin from a lady at the New Checkon near Tribal Market area.

It was a big breakthrough for the Manipur police after a narco-terror module was busted today. Acting on specific inputs, a team of Imphal East Police recovered heroin from a lady at the New Checkon near Tribal Market area.

As per inputs, the consignment weighing at least 2 kg is worth several crore in the international market.
Meanwhile, the arrested lady when interrogated, revealed that she had transported the contraband from Myanmar and was supposed to hand it over to another person at the Senapati Bazaar.

Soon after this, police swung into action and arrested the woman to whom the drugs consignment was supposed to be delivered to. It was then the Imphal East unearthed the narco-terror angle.

Upon further investigation, 30 gelatin sticks, 86 detonators, besides several other explosives were recovered.

According to Imphal East SP, M. Pradip the explosives were suspected to be used by underground outfits in planting IEDs to create disturbances in the upcoming Independence Day celebration.
