Police rescues abducted businessmen from alleged drug lord’s den in Guwahati

In a major operation, police have successfully rescued two abducted businessmen from Housefed Road in Guwahati last night. The victims, Kanhaiya Singh and Uttam Jaiswal, hailing from Dimapur, were allegedly kidnapped by a drug lord, Farooq Ahmed, from Hatigaon on April 14.

Reports suggest that the businessmen were abducted from Guwahati railway station and were held captive in a room located in Housefed road of Guwahati’s Hatigaon locality. The kidnappers had also demanded a hefty ransom of Rs 10 lakh for their safe release.

However, the police swung into action and launched a major operation to rescue the hostages. The operation turned out to be successful, as the police were able to rescue the two businessmen from their captors.

The prime suspect in the case, Farooq Ahmed, is reportedly on the run. To further investigate the case, the police have detained Farooq’s wife, Oli Devi Nath, for questioning.
