The deceased has been identified as Rahul Dutta.
While we still do not know by when will the trapped miners be rescued or if they will be rescued at all, another news of mishap has come in from Titabor in Assam.
An engineer working with ONGC in Titabor, died after suffering 80 per cent burns when a major fire broke out at the ONGC Group Gathering Station of GGS.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Dutta.
He was rushed to the Jorhat Medical College & Hospital but he died on the way to the hospital. As per sources, the heater at the gas gathering station caught fire resulting in the casualty.
It needs to be mentioned here that this is not the first time a fire incident has been reported from the GSS at the Titabor plant.
Two years back another fire incident had taken place and then too an engineer died. With repeated fire incidents being reported from the GSS, questions are now being raised about the safety, security and maintenance protocol of ONGC at its GSS Titabor premises.
