Assam woman allegedly sexually assaulted in Mumbai – Guwahati IndiGo flight

The flight authorities, after receiving the complaint, handed over the accused to Guwahati police on arrival at Guwahati airport, IndiGo authorities said on Monday
In a shocking incident, a woman passenger from Assam travelling on IndiGo flight 6E 5319 between Mumbai-Guwahati was allegedly sexually assaulted by her co-passenger.
The woman passenger accused the person of lifting the armrest and groping her while she was half asleep.
Here is what happened:
“I suddenly woke up with a start as I felt something on my right breast. I looked down and then at him. His hands were folded, and his eyes were shut. It took me a couple of secs to process the situation. I was in a confused state, wondering if it was intentional or a mistake, as there could be possibilities of the latter. I didn’t want to jump to any conclusions without any proof. After a couple of minutes, he leaned towards me, stretched his arms, crossed them again, left hand on his groin, and his right hand (fingers) slowly creeping towards me. That’s when I knew it was all deliberate. The moment he touched and started rubbing his fingers again, I wanted to scream, but I couldn’t. I froze,” the victim narrated.
The flight authorities, after receiving the complaint, handed over the accused to Guwahati police on arrival at Guwahati airport, IndiGo authorities said on Monday.
The complainant also filed a FIR with the Guwahati police.
She further shared that the cabin crew swung into action, and the pilots were alerted after she screamed and stood up against the accused man.
The woman passenger thanked the airline authorities, CISF personnel, police department, and airport authority for their support.
