Assam man rapes a girl, kills her then dumps the body in a river, arrested

Furious locals of Sonapur are demanding capital punishment for the accused and justice for the minor girl
Assam Police today arrested a man accused on charges of raping and murdering a minor girl in Sonapur near Guwahati.
The accused has been identified as–Babul Tumung. The victim was a student of class 9.
As per inputs, Tumung who is a autorickshaw driver allegedly raped and killed the girl and then dumped her body in Digaru river in Sonapur on June 28.
Locals said that on June 26, the girl went to a nearby shop to recharge her phone and did not return home since then.
On June 28, Police recovered the body of the minor girl from the river.
Today police arrested Babul and during interoigation, he confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, locals and family members of the victim girl alleged that she was gang-raped, and that there are 5 more person involved in the crime.
Seeking justice for the minor girl, furious locals demanded capital punishment for the accused and urged police to arrest the other accused persons.
