Assam: Class 11 student allegedly stabbed by senior students in Jorhat, hospitalized with serious injuries

Within two days of a Class 9 student dying after being punched by his seniors inside the classroom in a school in Darrang, another similar disturbing incident was as been reported from Jorhat district of Assam.

A shocking incident occurred at Dahotia Higher Secondary School in Jorhat, a group students of Class 12 allegedly attacked a Class 11 student with a knife leaving the victim critically injured.
The victim has identified as Debajit Bania.
Speaking to media, the victim said, “They entered our classroom and attacked me. They even attacked my classmates as well but they escaped.”
“They punched and kicked me and one of them took out a knife attacked me”, Bania added.
The injured student was swiftly admitted to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Furthermore, school authorities alerted the local police in response to the tragic incident.
This alarming episode raises serious concerns about safety in schools, particularly as it follows the tragic incident in Darrang’s Sipajhar.

On 23 September, a class 9 student of Padumpukhuri High School in Sipajhar, tragically died after being brutally beaten by a classmate.

The deceased has been identified as Bhabesh Deka, a resident of Senapati Para in Darrang district.
