Who Killed Rosmita? We Want Answers: Dima Hasao Girl Rosmita’s Parents A Week After They Found Their Daughter Dead in Uttarakhand

It’s been a week of having found the body of their daughter Rosmita by the Ganges in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, but her parents are still waiting for answers. Who killed their daughter Rosmita? Till date the family has not even received the post-mortem report.
It was on June 10, five days after she was reported missing in Delhi, that the family of Rosmita who lives in Sontila village in Dima Hasao got a call saying that their daughter’s body was found.
Rosmita’s parents, sitting 2,235 km away from Uttarakhand did not know what to do who to call. The heart-broken, grief-stricken parents somehow reached Pauri Garhwal and saw their daughter’s almost decomposed body.
The condition of the body was such that they had to cremate her in Uttarakhand, far away from home.
After returning to Assam, the distraught parents sought the help of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and on June 13, CM Sarma wrote to his Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami personally requesting him to look into the case.
Within hours of CM Sarma’s request, CM Dhami directed Uttarakhand DGP to set up an investigation into the case.
But till date the family has received no call, no updates from Uttarakhand.
They have more questions than answers. Where are Hemant Sharma, Rosmita’s boyfriend and Pankaj Kok who were the ones to go to Shivpuri police station and inform about Rosmita’s body? Are they to be blamed for Rosmita’s death? Did they have a role to play? Are they in police custody? What did the post-mortem report say?
Does Rosmita’s parents not deserve to know what happened to their daughter? Does authorities treat the common man and their deaths like this?
